There are numerous compost bins now available from local hardware stores. You will be amazed at how much fruit and vegetable waste you can collect and place in the composter each week. Every time you choose to compost food waste instead of sending it to a landfill you are helping the environment. The first benefit is that fairly soon you will have some great compost to spread on your flower beds, the second benefit is that every time the garbage is collected the garbage truck will be burning less fuel due to your lighter garbage output.
