Most appliances are designed to make cooking quicker and easier. Some of them also use less energy in the process. All of them will work more efficiently and last longer if you use and care for them properly. Pressure cookers cook food faster, and use less energy in the process. Fridges run more efficiently if you clean their coils periodically. Run your dishwasher overnight, and turn off the extra-hot wash and heated dry cycles.
