You’ve probably spent some time thinking about the food you eat and its
impact on the environment. Don’t let that effort go to waste when you
choose food for your furry friend (or your scaly one, for that matter).
Look for foods that list ingredients you recognize – “processed protein
meal” does not count; “chicken” does. Think about the major meat group
involved as well – chicken is better for the climate than lamb or beef.
And while the organic label doesn’t guarantee fewer greenhouse gas
emissions, it’s a good bet. Also look for foods that come in recyclable
containers and minimize unnecessary packaging.
