Government is, overwhelmingly, the largest employer in the country. Whether you’re a teacher or a marine, a mail carrier or a scientist, a fireman or a bureaucrat, your workplace contributes to our shared services emissions. These emissions are a substantial part of our footprint, and you are in a unique position to make a difference. Look over the other conservation recommendations on our site, think about how they apply to your workplace, and start acting with your co-workers to reduce our shared footprint. If you’re not a government employee, many of your friends and relatives probably are—talk with them about what they can do to reduce emissions at work.
