I am founder and president of Urban Seeds Inc. We are a 501(c)3 non profit in Evansville Indiana. Our mission is to cultivate community and promote sustainable living through education, organic gardening, recycling, and environmental awareness. We envision community spaces that serve as models for sustainability through organic food production, water conservation, ecological building, and community celebration.The Urban Seeds have been planting urban gardens in Evansville's 4th ward for 4 years with much success. During these four years we have provided over 200 different herb and vegetable varieties to hundreds of residents, and provided education through documentaries, workshops, potlucks, and hands-on gardening workdays. Our annual Earth Day Garden Party has been an educational tool for hundreds of Evansville residents every year, and we have given away thousands of edible trees, plants, and herbs through this program.
